sappy romance.

i'm a sucker through and through for sappy romance. which is why i was overjoyed when the queen of corny, sappy love songs released a new cd. if you guessed taylor swift then you are correct. although listening to her music sometimes makes me feel like a pre-teen girl i still love it. sometimes it's nice to be a 'young dreamer' with the white horse and prince charming! i bought her cd yesterday and have had it on repeat and will continue to until i know every word to every song.

favorite tracks so far....
track 2 - sparks fly
track 9 - enchanted

for all your girls (and boys) that are hopeless romantics, you should check out her new compact disc 'speak now'....

Fab Five Fridays

5 things adult women know how to do that
i should probably get a move on...

1) learn how to apply eye makeup. i have tried many times, it's always a bust.
2) make grilled cheese without burning it. i'm almost 24 years old and i am still yet to make this staple food without torching it.
3) be able to walk in high heels without hating my life/breaking my ankle. this one is getting better thanks to vegas.
4) know how to do my hair more then 2 ways. my hair is either straight or curly (it's naturally curly, don't give me to much credit for being able to make it look like a curly fro mess).
5) wrap gifts. it looks like a two year old hacked at some paper and tapped it on a box when i wrap gifts. gift bags are my best friend.

Tuesdays Tune
Mumford & Sons - The Cave

check here every tuesday to find a new 'tune'. i currently can't stop listening to the band mumford and sons. they have been around for a while and i'm sure you have heard their song 'the cave' but i thought that it would be a gooder to kick of my 'tuesdays tune' section of my blog...

BBBRRRRR

look back to a few posts ago when i was saying that I want the snow to come and that i would probably regret saying that. i was right. the snow has come (barely) and the woos in me has already come out.

so i have come up for the perfect solution for my craving to be on a board and to bask in the sun... SURFING! i tried it once when i was in Costa Rica a while back, it's a tricky sport to master but is defiantly an enjoyable one. just think about it, with surfing you get the best of both worlds; heat+a board+water=bliss.

until the day comes that i can fulfill this blissful dream, perhaps God is trying to teach me to be happy with where i am. time to pull out my sorel boots and parka.

new life

pregnancy is the weirdest thing when you really think about it. strangely enough i find myself often pondering this immaculate gift that God has given to us. there is a human inside another human. not only that but we become like a little oven, 'cooking' this human being that is put together in a VERY specific way. SO CRAZY!

my dear friend Charissa had a beautiful baby girl named Jillayne Miriam Dawn Peddie this afternoon. how exciting it must be to be a first time mum.

Congratulations Charissa, you will make an amazing mum!! I am so proud of you and can't wait to see you and meet your new little lady.

missing the mountains

this is where i want to be, what i want to be doing. today i have had an overwhelming longing to be in the mountains, listening to my ipod while cruising down the mountain on my board. though i love to snowboard, I'm usually okay with waiting for the snow season to come as it means (for me) constantly being chilled as I am positive that my internal thermometer was busted while i was living in Australia a few years back.

i always thought it was silly when people would say they miss things such as the ocean or the mountains. since moving to edmonton, i now understand this feeling that people talk about. it's true that you take for granted what is at your finger tips. the mountains are so far away, to far to take a day trip, to far to see from my bedroom window. it's always a glorious feeling driving home to calgary and catching my first glance of the city with the mountains as the backdrop.

i am now one of those people that says 'I miss the mountains'.

do you snowboard or ski? if so where is your favorite place to do it??
